Fundamental Crypto Asset Score


FCAS is a comparative metric used to assess the fundamental health of crypto projects. The score is derived from the interactivity between primary project lifecycle fundamentals: User Activity, Developer Behavior and Market Maturity.

  • The data is provided by FlipsideCrypto under a Creative Common BY-NC-ND 4.0 License.

  • All scores and ratings data are available for free. Data is updated on an hourly basis. Historical data are not available yet, you can register here to be notified when it’s made available.

  • Syntax is as simple as =CRYPTOFINANCE("FCAS:BTC", "score")

  • Over 450 assets are available with the following ratings: score and its related grade, dev, utility and market_maturity.

Asset Score

FCAS ratings are on a 0-1000 point scale with a corresponding letter grade. Break points are based on standard deviations in the underlying component distributions.

Asset Grade

The asset’s grade can take the following values, based on its score range:

  • S for Superb, when score is between 900 and 1000

  • A for Attractive, when score is between 750 and 899

  • B for Basic, when score is between 650 and 749

  • C for Caution, when score is between 500 and 649

  • F for Fragile, when score is below 500.

User Activity

The User Activity is comprised of Project Utilization and Network Activity.

Factors include:

  • Project Utilization is calculated based on the activity of user-operated wallets (primarily smart contract calls and transfers where relevant) engaging in the intended use-case of a given project.

  • Network Activity is based on wallet address classifications, focusing on the actions of wallets operated by stakers, miners, users, and investors.

Developer Behavior

Developer Behavior is comprised of Code Changes, Code Improvement and Community Involvement.

The data is obtained by ingesting and evaluating events that occur in public and private developer code repositories like GitHub and Gitlab.

Market Maturity

Market Maturity is comprised of Liquidity and Market Risk.

Market Maturity, derived from Risk and Liquidity factors, represents the likelihood a crypto asset will provide consistent returns across various market scenarios by combining multiple assessments of market Risk.
